My Story
Hello! My name is Shauna Neiser (nee Crognali). I was born and raised in Beausejour. I am one of three children of Gloria and Rene Crognali. I have two older brothers, Greg and Jeff. My family owned the Beausejour Bakery and I worked there from the age of 12 years old until my early twenties.
I lived in Beausejour until I finished university in 1992. After university, I secured employment with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) working out of the Portage La Prairie detachment and along side the City of Portage La Prairie. I was their first Victim Services Coordinator.
I worked with the RCMP and the courts assisting victims of crime providing support and education. In this role, I also assisted people involved in major vehicle collisions. The Victim Services Program had a volunteer management component where community members worked with me and the RCMP to provide services to those affected by crime and traffic collisions.
After 6 ½ years, I moved to Winnipeg and shortly after started a 21 year career with Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI). My career with MPI included working as a Road Safety Issue Specialist, Senior Business Analyst, Senior Case Manager, Provincial Citizens on Patrol (COPP) Coordinator and Wellness Coordinator. During my last 8 years with MPI, I moved back to Beausejour with my family and worked out of the MPI office in town.
From here, I took a short term position back with the RCMP in disability management and then went to work for Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB) as a Senior Case Manager. I worked with WCB until September 2025 when I took an early retirement. (To learn more about my career details, check out My Experience section of the website).
And now after some rest and relaxation, I am ready to come out of retirement! Ready to be your mayor!
